HTDS is an independent design studio with a distinct vision. We believe in taking the meaning of creative designing one step further by emphasizing that the outcome of our projects be as innovative as possible.
We believe in challenging boundaries.

One of our most important aims is to integrate our creative designing philosophy into new and unexpected contexts. We manage to do this by continuously seeking new and progressive projects to venture into.

We offer from traditional industrial designing to custom-made commissions, our team of professionals led by Hiroshi Tsunoda offers a variety of different services all in the line of design.

We work through medias such as product design, furniture design, conceptual design, interior design and graphic design. We specialize in developing projects with aesthetic, practical, ecological, commercial and cost-effective productions.

In order for the end results of our projects to be as satisfying as possible, we maintain a close dialogue with our clients throughout the whole designing process.

We are a multi-cultural group of young people welded together by our passion for creative designing.
We love what we do and we would like to think that our positive working environment is reflected in the result of our work.

Our studio is located in Borne, the center of the old town in Barcelona.

HIROSHI TSUNODA

Hiroshi Tsunoda is a Japanese designer established in Barcelona since 2000.
His fascination for the American culture, made him move to Chicago and then study design in the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, USA.

In 2005 Hiroshi decided to found his own studio in Barcelona (www.hiroshitsunoda.com). His studio offers a variety of different services all in the line of design, through medias such as product design, furniture design, conceptual design, interior design and graphic design.

Hiroshi also runs DesignCode (www.designcode.es), a product editorial company based with the idea of sensational design within everyone’s reach.

His designs has been showed around the world: Barcelona, London, Milan, Paris, Frankfurt, Hangzhou, Moscow… and he has participated in a huge number of talks and events in many countries.

Hiroshi has combined his career as a designer with university teaching. He also had realized a huge number of workshops.

Since he was a child, Hiroshi liked painting and working with his hands but it was after seeing a documentary about Giorgetto Giugiaro when his interest for design began. His fascination for the American culture, specially the cinema and basketball, make him to move to Chicago and then study design in the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, an experience that allowed him to develop his talent and technique apart from acquiring his own style.

His design identity is the formal simplicity, which brings a strong geometric character in his designs and provides them with a big honesty in relation with their function and the material used. Hiroshi finds the inspiration to design new products in this closer surroundings, in the small problems of the daily life and exploring continuously new formal and conceptual fields.

In 2005 Hiroshi decided to found his own studio in Barcelona with the idea to offer innovative and fresh solutions, seen from a multicultural point. During these years, the studio has collaborated with different profiles of national and international companies. The same year he creates DesignCode, a product editorial company based with the Design-à-porter: sensational design within everyone’s reach.

His designs has been showed around the world: London, Milan, Paris, Frankfurt, Hangzhou, Moscow… and he has participated in a huge number of talks and events, like the DesignAct in Moscow, the Formica Workshop in Miami, the Hangzhou International Design Festival in China, the Design of New Business Ideas organized by the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid and DDI, Creatives Talks by Lladró in Valencia and The Creative Journeys in the Apple Store in Barcelona.

Hiroshi has combined his career as a designer with university teaching. In the last years he has taught at LCI BARCELONA, IED and Elisava in Barcelona, in the High Degree and in some Masters. He also had realized a huge number of workshops.

PERFIL HIROSHI
Hiroshi Tsunoda (Tokio, 1974) es un diseñador japonés establecido en Barcelona desde el año 2000.

Desde pequeño a Hiroshi ya le gustaba dibujar y trabajar con las manos y un documental de Giorgetto Giugiaro despertó su interés por el diseño. Su fascinación por la cultura americana, especialmente el cine y el baloncesto, lo llevaron a trasladarse a Chicago y posteriormente a estudiar diseño en la prestigiosa Rhode Island School of Design, una experiencia que le permitió desarrollar su talento y su técnica además de adquirir un estilo propio.

Su sello de identidad es la simplicidad formal, imprimiendo un marcado carácter geométrico en sus diseños y dotándolos de una gran honestidad en relación a su función y el material del que están hechos. Hiroshi encuentra la inspiración para diseñar nuevos productos en su entorno más inmediato, en los pequeños problemas del día a día, explorando constantemente nuevos campos, tanto formales como conceptuales.

En 2005 Hiroshi decide fundar en Barcelona su propio estudio con el objetivo de ofrecer soluciones innovadoras y frescas desde un punto de vista multicultural. Durante estos años, el estudio ha colaborado con empresas de perfiles muy diversos tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Ese mismo año crea DesignCode, una editora de producto basada en el Design-à-porter: diseños sensacionales al alcance de todos.

Sus diseños han sido expuestos por todo el mundo: Londres, Milán, París, Frankfurt, Hangzhou, Moscú… y ha participado en un gran número de conferencias y eventos, entre ellos el Design Act de Moscú, el Formica Workshop en Miami, el International Design Festival de Hangzhou China, Diseñando Nuevas Ideas de Negocio del Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid y el DDI, las Charlas Creativas by Lladró en Valencia o las jornadas creativas en la Apple Store de Barcelona.

Hiroshi ha compaginado su carrera como diseñador con la docencia. En los últimos años ha impartido clases en la escuela LCI BARCELONA, IED y en Elisava, tanto en su Graduado Superior como en Masters. También ha impartido numerosos workshops.

1974年、東京生まれ。2000年からバルセロナを拠点に活動する日本人デザイナー。

幼少期より絵画や手作業を好み、ジョルジェット・ジウジアーロ(Giorgetto Giugiaro)のドキュメンタリーをきっかけにデザインに興味を持つ。映画やバスケットボールをはじめとしたアメリカ文化に魅了され、シカゴに英語留学。その後、名門美術大学であるRhode Island School of Designで工業デザインを学ぶ。その中で、才能を開花させ、シンプルな形と幾何学的なデザイン、そして機能と素材の性質の特徴を重視する独自のスタイルを確立。

また、新しいプロダクトをデザインするため、身近な環境や日々の小さな問題の中からインスピレーションを受け、常に新しい分野や概念を開拓している。
2005年、革新的かつフレッシュな解決法を、マルチカルチャーの視点から提案するという目標のもと、バルセロナに自身のスタジオHTDS(Hiroshi Tsunoda Design Studio)を設立。その後、数年間で様々な業種のスペイン国内外の企業とのコラボレーションを実現。
同年、プロダクトデザインのブランドであるDesignCodeを設立。誰もが手に取って使える、センセーショナルなデザインという意味を込めた「Sensational design within everyone’s reach」をテーマに掲げる。

手がけたデザインは、ロンドン、ミラノ、パリ、フランクフルト、杭州、モスクワなど世界中に展開され、数多くの講演会やイベント(モスクワ DesignAct、マイアミ the Formic Workshop、杭州 the Hangzhou International Design Festival in China、マドリッド the Design of New Business Ideas organized by the circulo de Bellas Artes de Madrid and DDI、バレンシア Creatives Talks by Lladró、バルセロナ The Creative Journys in the Apple Storeなど)にも参加。

また、多数のワークショップも実現。近年、デザインの仕事と平行して、バルセロナの大学、IEDやElisavaの修士課程でも教鞭をとる。

Hiroshi Tsunoda (Tokio, 1974) 是一位日本设计师,自 2000 年在巴塞罗那立足。Hiroshi 从小喜爱绘画和手工,而他对设计的兴趣起始于一部 Giorgetto Giugiaro 的纪录片。Hiroshi对美国文化的热爱,特别是电影与篮球,使他去到美国芝加哥,后续在著名的罗德岛设计学院学习设计,留学美国的经历让hiroshi的才能与技术飞快提升,也对他的设计风格带来深厚的影响。

他的设计通常以简洁的形状呈现,附带强烈的几何特征,在结合其功能和材料时能显示出明了的和谐性。 Hiroshi 的灵感来自生活,无论是在他身边的小环境中,在日常生活中的小问题,他都能探索出微妙的形式和概念。
2005 年,Hiroshi 在巴塞罗那建立了自己的独立工作室,用多元文化的视角来提供创新的解决方案。自从建立起,他的工作室与不同类型的国内外公司合作。同年,他创建了产品编辑公司 DesignCode,公司的理念来自Design-à-porter 的哲学:触手可及的好设计。
